Annie B. Red

Annie B. Red was born March 6, 1943, to the late Willie Hollins Sr. and Mary Brumfield of Many, La. The sun set one final time for her on Feb. 12, 2011, at her home in Winslow.

Annie was a resident of Holbrook in her early day where she attended the Holbrook Schools. She later relocated to Winslow where she met Henry Charles Cheatham and they had a child and named him LaRaymond Cheathom/Hollins. She was employed in different fields, before she met and married Elbert "PeeWee" Redd. She later joined the Winslow Memorial Hospital in which she served 22 years before her retirement.

Annie leaves to cherish her memory a son LaRaymond Cheatham/Hollins, two grandchildren Aubrey Scott and André Hollins; great-granddaughter Breanna; six sisters: Katie (Sonny) McClendon, Shirley Hunt, Mary L. Britton, Vella Helire, Betty Johnson and Ruby Batiste; eight brothers: Robert Sweet, Isaac Hollins, George Hollins, Willie Hollins Jr., Oasker L. Hollins, Jesse R. Hollins, Edward E. Hollins and Dorsey Batiste; one special sister-in-law Rose Wyatt; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Annie was preceded in death by her loving husband Albert Redd, her granddaughter Aubrey Latikin Cheatham, her father and mother Willie and Rosie Hollins, Mary Brumfield and her niece Cherie Hollins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow.
